Girl run over by sewage lorry in Mogappair
A 12-year-old sixth grader, K. Abirami, was run over by a sewage lorry on Wednesday morning in Mohanram Nagar, East Mogappair. She was on her way to school on her bicycle when a sewage lorry overtook her and dragged her under its wheels. Citizens around the area rushed to her aid and took her to the hospital but she died on the way. The angered public thrashed the driver and damaged his lorry. Tirumangalam Traffic Police arrived at the scene and have apprehended the driver and seized the vehicle.
An investigation is underway. The body of the girl has been sent to the Governement Kilpauk Hospital for post-mortem.
