8-year-old girl raped in Bengaluru
Bengaluru: An eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped by an unidentified man at an under-construction building in Ashwathnagar near Saraipalya in Hennur police station limits on Tuesday evening.
The victim is undergoing treatment at Vani Vilas Hospital and is recovering. She is a third standard student at a private school near her house. Her father is an auto driver and also works in a mutton stall.
The victim’s mother told Deccan Chronicle that she asked her daughter to bring eye drops from a nearby medical store on Tuesday evening. “She left home around 6.30 pm but did not return for 20 minutes. I called my husband.
But as he was in the mosque, he did not receive the call. Later, I went in search of her and informed my husband at the mosque. The authorities at the mosque then used the public address system to announce that the girl was missing.”
She said, “I went in search of her again, shouting her name along with my husband and other relatives. While passing near the under construction building, Shazia heard me and came out and narrated the incident. It was 7.30 pm by the time we found her.
There were no streetlights in the locality and very few people were moving around. According to my daughter, he closed her mouth and took her inside the building. He raped her on the ground floor of the three-storey building and fled,” the victim’s mother said.
“Immediately we informed the police and she was taken to the police station. Later, we took her to Dr. Ambedkar Hospital, and then to Bowring hospital, where she was subjected to medical test. Around 5 am on Wednesday, she was shifted to Vani Vilas Hospital. She underwent a surgery and has received eight sutures,” she said.
