IAS officer, wife from Andhra Pradesh killed in mishap
Visakhapatnam: A senior IAS officer from Andhra Pradesh and his wife were among four people who were killed after their car plunged into a gorge at the Khardung-La pass, 40-km from Leh.
T. Dharma Rao, posted in Bhopal as Madhya Pradesh industrial board commissioner, and his wife Vidya Rao were on a holiday with other senior IAS officers in Ladakh, official sources said. They were driving to Leh when the accident occurred.
The officer’s elder brother Raja Rao and sister Nirmala were seen in grief at their residence in Seethammadhara area of the city. Dharma Rao was a B.Tech graduate from Andhra University and did his MBA at IIM Kolkata and later joined Shipping Corporation of India in Mumbai in 1984 where he served till 1989. Rao was selected for the IAS in 1989.
